ELIGIBILITY: Boys and Girls for entering grades 2 thru 8 residing in Sutton. (Grade child is entering the upcoming September).
GOALS: The Summer Program is an instructional environment for grades 2-4, teaching kids the fundamentals of basketball in the structure of stations and games. Grades 5-8 participate in pick-up games.
INSTRUCTORS: Parents, community members and Sutton high school basketball players volunteer.
REGISTRATION: Online registration will be available around June each year.
FEES: $25 per player.
DATES: Every Tuesday and Thursday for approximately six weeks beginning July 13th.
UNIFORMS: Reversible Sutton green and white Jerseys are required and are available for $10 each.
LOCATION: Outdoor courts in front of Sutton Middle and High School.
OFFICIALS: Referees are comprised of high school student-athletes and volunteers.
SCHEDULE:
5:30-6:30 – 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade (Instructional)
6:30-7:30 – 5th and 6th grade
7:30-8:30 – 7th and 8th grade
All sessions are coed. 2nd-4th grade begins with stations and then split by grade to scrimmage at the end. 5th grade and up is scrimmages. We do begin with some basic warm-up drills. 5th and 6th grade the courts are split by gender, numbers permitting.
We have been approved to use the courts this summer!

Thursday sessions have 3 left due to holidays and a snow cancellation (makeup date) 1/21, 1/28 & 2/4
Central Mass Extreme is going to offer sessions in February and March. Once we receive that information we will share it. These sessions will not be exclusive to Sutton.
WINTER Skill Instruction Grades K-5
Sutton Youth Basketball has partnered with Central Mass Extreme to offer a recreational program for Grades K-5 in a church gym in Auburn. This program will be aimed at skill development.
This program is exclusive for Town of Sutton residents only, assuming we fill the slots (which are filling up fast).
The program will be 7-weeks long beginning the week of December 8th and ending late January.
In order to be safe and ensure compliance, there will be a MAXIMUM of 10 players per session. All players must wear masks to participate per MA guidelines.
3rd through 5th grade will have two sessions.
Girls 3rd through 5th: Tuesday’s 5-6pm (12/8, 12/15, 12/22, 12/29, 1/5, 1/12, 1/19)
Boys 3rd through 5th: Thursday’s 6-7pm (12/10, 12/17, 12/31, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21 & 1/28)
K-2nd will be coed groups with 2 available sessions. You may register to attend Tuesday’s 4-5pm or Thursday’s 5-6pm (you may not switch which day you attend).
Cost is $135 per person.
Due to the limited available spots, you must pay to secure your spot. Please email suttonyouthbasketball@gmail.com and let us know which session you would like to attend. We will respond with payment details.
This program will take the place of our usual winter basketball recreation that runs in January and February. We may look to offer a second session with Central Mass Extreme in the Feb – Mar time frame as well.
Our league CMYBL (cmybl.org) is exploring options for the season. Currently, the decision has been made to move the season to a January start date with a 9-10 week season. SYB Is communicating with Sutton Schools about the feasibility of having teams, practices and a season. More to follow as decisions are made.
